Am I the only user who experiences performance issues?

When opening Jerboa often I see an empty screen at first and I have to reopen the app several times until it finally shows me as being logged in.

When posting, often Jerboa immediately returns me back to my posting without returning to the post or community. Sometimes the post gets through without me noticing which results in double posts or comments.

No, you're not alone. Both your and my accounts are on the lemmy.world instance, which is the biggest instance by far and which I heard grew like 40% in the last day or two. It's groaning under the weight of all the rexxitors joining simultaneously.

Probably over the next few days, a combination of server side performance work and new users getting bored and visiting less will get things sorted again. But if you don't want to wait, you'll want to make an account on an instance with 100-1000 users, which is in the goldilocks zone of big enough to be unlikely to shut down and small enough not to be perpetually overloaded.

Then there should be at least a sticky post which asks new users to better register to another instance. When registering my account this was the reason why I didn't register on lemmy.ml. They asked users to register somewhere else at that time.

They did shut down signups for a while. The admins here aim to scale the instance to handle the demand, which they've successfully done several times. I expect they'll find some performance again.
