Yeah no shit. Every hyped new EV is more expensive than the last. They just discontinued the cheapest EV you can buy in the US (the Chevy Bolt) and they say they're going to replace it with an equivalent on the new platform but I will eat my hat if it's not more expensive than the Bolt.

And of course the Cybertruck finally comes out, years too late and significantly more expensive than originally hyped.

People WANT to drive EV's but they need to make them affordable to regular people.

They claim the battery s the big expense but here's the thing: I have a PHEV with like 35 miles of electric range that is perfectly fine on electric only for weeks at a time. Sure, lots of people need EV's with huge range. But TONS of people don't! I suspect the first mfr to clue into that will make money hand over fist.
