The Havertz hate brigade used G/A among other things trying to prove the signing of Havertz was bad.
Last season (22/23) Xhaka got 9 goals and 7 assists. This season so far Havertz has 3 goals and 1 assist. I will follow this stat with great interest and if Havertz equals this stat I will throw it in your faces.
A better comparison might be Kai's first X games to Xhaka's first X games as an advanced 8 in 433, dating from his return at Goodison in December 2021.
In his first 15 matches in the role (PL only), Xhaka had one assist. (And had enjoyed two whole years of working with Arteta prior, though in a worse Arsenal side.)
In his first 15 (PL+CL) Kai has 3G+1A. (With no prior Arteta experience, if in a much better side.)
What he hasn't done is started this season with a purple patch like the one Xhaka had last season, where he had 3G+3A in his first 15 (PL+EL).
But then he only had 2 assists in a run of 14; Kai will have plenty of opportunity to catch up.
I love Granit but two of his goals came in our end of season dead rubber, didn’t they?
Yup.
And two assists in the Chelsea match after the league was gone.
I'm one of the biggest pro-Kai in DD and even before he started playing for his role (which is different from Xhaka's) on the ball we must only judge output, he's supposed to have fewer touches than everyone in our front 5, because he has to roam around trying to find space whilst Zinchenko plays as a "left 8.
Since Zinchenko does pretty much the same but carrying the ball away from his position, Kai doesn't that role instead keep He plays a hybrid of left 8/second striker, but when Tomi plays he has more freedom and start doing his "ramdauter" role (I hate that name I'll come up with something different)
