I've used both of them and have sensitive eyes. Basically, it depends on what’s you’re looking for in a tablet, and what your budget is.
The differences I've noticed between them are that the scribe has backlighting (with light temperature control), and the remarkable doesn't, and the lines on templates are slightly darker and more pronounced on the scribe than the remarkable.
Since they are both eink, they both flicker when refreshing or going from note to note, and that is about the same.
As for writing, they are both decent, the remarkable has just a shade more grip to the screen than the scribe.
As for reading, the scribe lets you read your kindle library and you can send pdfs to it, while the remarkable afaik can read some pdfs only.
As for typing, the remarkable has a separate type folio, the scribe has only the on screen keyboard.
Hope this helps!
Not smartassing here but i think OP was talking about the paperwhite.
