My current home screen is inspired by the UI design featured in cowboy bebop :)

it's always evolving so parts are unfinished, but a lot of the features are designed to help me manage my circadian rhythm sleep disorder

Not sure how it'll look after compression, but I'm really proud of the design work that went into it, its pretty much all custom made with KWGT and KLWP

Edit: had to post page 2 separately πŸ™ƒ

lol, my eating schedule is so weird because of my sleep disorder. Right now I go to bed at 6am-ish, and wake at 3-4pm. In the winter it tends to drift later and I start often waking after sunset. Thats why there's sunrise/sunset times next to the weather, along with other similar info kinda buried in the ui to help me manage my sleep schedule (the solstices, and daylight savings time changes are marked on the month indicator at the top of the calendar, for instance) on the left side there's an agenda progress bar with some important breakpoints in my day, and you can see its not long after wakeup even though its 8am πŸ˜… though the progress bar doesn't adjust for daylight savings/schedule changes yet, so its currently an hour off

And I haven't really found many notification sounds I like. Most directly relevant stuff I've seen seems too on the nose/more like a reference than something in-universe (for similar reasons I've thought about removing "you're gonna carry that weight", but it has a lot of personal significance to me). There are a couple of pre-loaded Pixel notification sounds I like though, including one that feels kinda evocative of a radar ping which is neat :)

Maybe I should try looking for some more SciFi notification sounds again

I'd keep the quote, it's good significance to a lot of people! For sounds, my mind wandered to like, a ring tone of the bounty TV program theme for when you need an alarm or something. Maybe a little obnoxious, though.

Funny I used to sleep at 6am to 8am, but it worked itself out somehow. I miss my late nights, though my life just can't do those hours anymore. It was more a choice, as it was quite and peaceful.

I didn't realize it didn't show up but there's also a second page to the home screen, I just posted that too separately

For some reason posting through mastodon made only one of the attached images show up

The peacefulness is kinda the one upside to me. It's also very isolating, often adds additional hurdles to lots of important small things in life (everything is closed and nothing is available during the hours I would normally function) and it's really restricted what I can do with my life. Not to mention it burns a lot of my mental energy trying to keep my schedule at least vaguely functional. I'm still learning to make my peace with it, especially as we're entering the winter months.

But walks in the middle of the night when you get the whole world to yourself are a small solace I appreciate :)

I'll have to go look up what the bounty hunter theme was like again, maybe there's a place for it somewhere in the sounds my phone makes ☺️
