IF the 5700x3D has 65w TDP (I know, I know that means 88watts) that would be pretty neat and an instant buy from me.
why not just get a 5800x3d and limit it manually? i cant imagine the 5700x3d will be that much cheaper anyway.
I'm not too keen on relying on PBO2-Tuner (software). And so far it has been next to impossible (work in progress) to find out if my motherboard actually supports curve optimizer for this specific CPU in bios.
I thought most motherboards support it by now. My asrock b450 at least does.
Probably yes. But if the 5700x3D is a 65w tdp part having a working curve optimizer is less paramount.
You can just lower PPT TDC EDC if nothing else, you'll get better boost on a 5800x3d that way.
Curve optimizer is there to reduce heat and increase boost, but if you buy a 5700x3d you seem to lose a lot of boost, so even a shittily tuned 5800x3d should stay at 4.1ghz all core without much headache.
