seems like the target audience for this is very niche. People who want a first party way to stream their games, but also share a TV and don't want to just pay a cheaper price for a phone mount, but are willing to spend $200 on a dedicated streaming device.

im willing to bet this doesn't sell well, but im hoping it gets jailbroken. this little device could be a hell of an emulation device at a little over half the cost of the steamdeck.

My completely unsubstantiated conspiracy theory is that Sony had a warehouse full of phones that were semi functional but didn’t pass QA, and they jury rigged this thing as a way to repurpose them, so even if they only sell a hundred K or so it’s still a win

Full of phones with 1080p LCD 8" display?

Aside from the screen size, is there any reason to buy this if you already have a phone clip for your PS5 controller?

a slightly bigger screen, but you'll pay for that when the compression artifacts are more noticable.

but other than that, like you said, no. theres 0 reason to. and the stream delay seems a frame or two slower than phones for some reason.
