ublock origin still blocking everything.
ublock origin is so good at blocking YouTube it almost makes me think the developer is affiliated somehow. Their other extension, umatrix (which has more or less the same functionality just laid out differently), never really worked for me, but as soon as I add ublock origin it works perfectly.
Are any of the blocklists actually made by gorhill?

It probably wouldn't be too hard to export from uBlock and import into uMatrix. I generally prefer uMatrix, even though it's technically discontinued. Even when you put uBlock into Author mode in the advanced settings, it still only really lets you choose by domain instead of splitting it down into scripts, XHR, frames, etc.
I was asking because if gorhill doesn't maintain any block lists then the conspiracy that he has inside information from youtube is nothing more then a conspiracy.
Actually, uBlock does use lists made by the developer, I think. In the settings there's a bunch of things that are built in:
So maybe it's something in there that blocks YouTube ads, which uMatrix is missing.

Yup. I last updated a month or 2 ago and it works perfectly fine still.
I wish I could say the same been getting these annoying youtube things with firefox/ublock on both linux and windows
