Speaking as someone who tried to get into homestuck after seeing how beloved it was, but couldn't really adapt to it... Wait I don't really have anything to say.
You need to download The Unofficial HOMESTUCK Collection since the new serilasation is pretty bad.
HOMESTUCK was built with the internet in mind and Flash in browser is dead.
