Don't they have the votes to just impeach and remove her on some bullshit? I thought that was the plan.

They want to impeach, and then delay, delay, delay. The law says that she cannot rule on any cases as long as the impeachment trial is pending.

Nothing would stop her from resigning and letting Evers appoint someone to restore the majority that feels the same way. Wouldn't surprise me if he's already got follow up candidates waiting to be appointed if they try their dumb bullshit.
