Privacy has become a very important issue in modern society, with companies and governments constantly abusing their power, more and more people are waking up to the importance of digital privacy.
In this community everyone is welcome to post links and discuss topics related to privacy.
Some Rules
- Posting a link to a website containing tracking isn't great, if contents of the website are behind a paywall maybe copy them into the post
- Don't promote proprietary software
- Try to keep things on topic
- If you have a question, please try searching for previous discussions, maybe it has already been answered

Start looking into home assistant. It can accomplish most of the things you want.
Yeah I have been and am super excited to get into it once I upgrade my homeserver, but my issue is the hardware devices. The ease of speaking into the void to set timers and get news, the intuitive Ring camera that automatically sends push notifications on movement detection. Idk how to replace these.
It's probably not as intuitive, but Frigate NVR is way more powerful and, when combined with HA, a very capable platform to get notifications for much more than just motion detection (very powerful object recognition, and now a ridiculously comprehensive sound detection engine as well, as of 0.13.0 beta 1, are some examples). Frigate + HA can more than likely do anything you need from a security camera, and far more than you have ever considered needing.
