Why are they circular? What are they circumscribing? Are they keeping something in or keeping us out?

The reality is that they're not crop circles; they're crop spheres. Haven't you seen them spinning gently, mirroring the motion of the earth? Haven't you felt the inexplicable wind passing over your face no matter how far you are from it?
