I'm gonna be honest, I didn't have a Matrix myself, so I made one, and now I'm lost. Jerboa still crashes when I try to dm. Does it work from your end? I've added my Matrix to Lemmy too now.

Apparently, there needs to be the option to send a secure message, which I'm not able to see on your profile. Seems to be an issue on my end though, because signing in to the website, I can see that Lemmy doesn't know what to do with my Matrix account.
