Elder Scrolls games, especially Oblivion. But for all of them counts that after thousands of hours I still find new things, walking around the world is just great, the music amazing, the quality issues and bugs feel more silly in a fun way than breaking, and the lore feels like it is never ending.
Otherwise there is also the Sims. Similar weird lore, funky cartoony animation, and otherwise just a do whatever you feel like.
Oblivion is such fun for those exact reasons. I espocially love listening to the weirdly charming NPC conversations.
"Hello."
"Well met."
"How are you?"
"I've been better. You?"
"I've been better."
"I hope things get better."
"Be seeing you."
"Farewell."
"Hello" "Oh... it's you" "I saw a mudcrap the other day" "Horrible creatures" "Farewell" "Be seeing you"
Yeah, Oblivion is really something special. I've probably spent more time total on Skyrim, but Oblivion just feels more alive to me. Love the soundtrack and the dreaminess of the world. I also love the voice acting flubs they just left in the game, haha.
Oh I also spend more time in Skyrim, but that's only because the 64bit engine allows for way more modding capabilities (no more 4GB RAM limit!) and because I can play it in the train on the Switch where as for Oblivion I'm stuck to my PC or PS3. But in my eyes, Oblivion is still the best game made to this day.
Both are over a thousand hours playtime by now tho. Sadly I had Oblivion originally on PS3 and on PC on a disc without code (so couldn't add to Stean) and Skyrim on PS3, Switch, and on PC devided over oldrim, SE, and VR. So it's nearly impossible to get acurate playtimes by now.
