I, being someone who works with computers, have had some luck with most of my favorite subs being here already.

Despite that, some of my hobby ones still aren't here. NFL exists, but it's the same as nothing so far. Soccer I couldn't find at first, maybe today it already does? Also, no sign of fantasy football.

I also followed a bunch of History subs, but looks like most people in Lemmy only care about science and technology.

Yes I know. But there's a couple of NFL communities already they just need more people actually making content in them

Totally understandable and fine. But then you can't complain about there being no content, that's all.

This is all just part of being an early adopter on a platform that relies on user-generated content.

Yea, not really complaining. I knew there will be stuff that would be missing stuff by adopting it so early.

This post is aimed more to encourage people to do exactly what you said, btw. See shared interests, engage in the same discussions and all.

Absolutely! Didn't read your post as a complaint I'm just clarifying for the other commenter 🙂

The main problem with recreating /r/NFL is it relies on news from places like Twitter, and the sort of people moving to Lemmy are likely to have also left Twitter...
