Generally, an artifact should be 100+ years old, but this is a flexible requirement if you find something rare and suitably linked to an era of history, not a strict rule. Anything over 100 is fair game regardless of rarity.

I'm just trying to imagine having to bend that thing all the way back around to string it, and I'm already feeling the frustration.
I know there's probably a technique for it, using your legs to trap it or something, but that's still gotta be a wrestling match.

Stringing starts around halfway through the vid. Two legs and what looks like arm strength is the key, where a longbow uses one leg and more of your torso.
