  1. When I use the https://join-lemmy.org/instances do I need to register a new account for example beehaw.org, sopuli.xyz and other server?

  2. From this video https://youtu.be/UirZ9zPCGtQ?t=155 he said that I can see other communities from "all" so that includes like beehaw.org and more?

  3. What are some tips that I should know to enjoy lemmy?

edit* how do you turn off the lemmy notifications. It covers my screen.

  1. No, you only need one account on one server and you'll be able to see posts and comments everywhere else.
  2. Yes, although a few specific servers are blocked by other specific servers, and very small servers may not show many communities elsewhere until their users actually subscribe. But yes, beehaw.org and others work just fine.
  3. You can see a list of all communities here. Also Lemmy federates with Mastodon, not just Lemmy instances among themselves, in case you're also using that.

Thank you so much and also it will take me a while to get used to this (@-@ ูฅ). I am not familiar with mastodon but how do you use it along with lemmy?

[โ€“] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You can comment on Lemmy posts from Mastodon but it's messy.

When a comment starts with @username it is coming from mastodon, right?

@Mac @infeeeee
Not specifically Mastodon but somewhere else for sure.

did you type your and my username by hand?

Because it doesn't make sense to tag yourself in your own comment, and tag the one you are replying to in lemmy.
