Is this like a genetic thing that only some people get? Or is it a joke that doesn't really happen but the gross factor makes it funny to some people, so it gets repeated?

Late reply but I am really good with spice in the first stage, eating it. Then if it's really spicy, I'll have a few days of bad stomach ache and shits that actually feel like they're burning.

A few days? That sounds awful. I get heartburn sometimes if I eat something on the far edge of my tolerance, but I think I'd probably avoid chili altogether if it had days long repercussions throughout my digestive system. Surely at some point you have to ask yourself if it's masochism?

Oh it definitely happens. I dunno if some people just don't get it though, but I certainly do!

Oh, ok fair enough. It's never happened to me and I eat a lot of chilli.

Maybe you've just built up a tolerance!

That could be it, I've had spicy food in my diet since I was a little kid.
