We've all heard history told from the victor's point of view, but what happens when the silenced finally speak?
This African proverb hits hard: “Until the lion learns to write, every story will glorify the hunter.” It’s a striking reminder that narratives are power, and those without a voice are often reduced to villains, footnotes, or forgotten completely.
But what if the lion does learn to write?
What if we start listening to the voices history has ignored — the colonized, the marginalized, the “losers” of wars, the hunted?
I just released a YouTube video exploring the meaning and cultural roots of this powerful saying. It dives into historical manipulation, media bias, and the importance of telling our own stories.

Let’s talk:
-
Which voices do you think have been ignored in history or media?
-
Can objectivity really exist in storytelling?
-
What modern-day "lions" do you think are finally learning to write?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Drop a comment, share your own interpretation, or even challenge the proverb if you see it differently.
It can be learned from astrology, for example I am a Leo South Node, the nodal axis is what we are at our base (South Node) And what we want to learn in this life (North Node) The North Node opposite Leo is Aquarius.
Leo's symbology is the Lion. Aquarius's symbology is a jug holding what needs to be given to the people, it is a weight upon the human's shoulder, it is symbolic of release and lightening the load, falling away from self-imposed limits.
The nodal axis represents a dragon's tail and a dragon's head, it is uroboros as in this life I cannot deviate from either, continual conflict develops internal change to the psyche. It can be externalized, and it can be internalized, however the North Node always promises new growth, the south Node promises us comfort.
Sticking to our default, comfortable side never develops us more as a person, separating from each does not develop us as we need to contrast both with each other.
Examples of Leo South Node famous people.
Abel Tesfaye, otherwise known as The Weeknd, all of his music is based on the ego self and some later incarnations is about destroying the self (Ego).
With knowledge comes power, without the self you cannot establish difference, the South Node is not to be abandoned, but the North Node develops exceptional self-control and without control of the North Node, you become bottomless with your head in the clouds and follow anything, taken by the wind.
Without vulnerability, we cannot be real.
Example of vulnerable Abel.

Comment. "Baptized in fear to open hearts adds to another great transition"
Blinding lights, the ego blinds...
Hurry up tomorrow, he sees his future self, but this transition or evolution cannot be rushed, do not kick out now, have patience, you will learn the wisdom along with it.
Everyone is born with a different soul urge, some share the same path.
His developer is the same Nodal Axis, a journey shared by us all. Different generation but exact same axis, the developer of his music is at a later stage, the music develops himself and the other, another healthy uroboros. https://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Max_Martin

In the end the predator and the victim hold the cards to true union in the middle.
Comment.
"Wow. This is a completely different song to me now. How does one make one love themselves? Especially the former and future versions? And what mask do we have to wear to let others invite us in? Or does that scare us too much because if we just see fear in their eyes and actions? Do we really need “medicine” to “make us normal”? Or does that make us sacrifice our creativity? Abel - you really are so creative. Always allowing yourself and your fans room to interpret your work many ways. How it speaks to us and well as to you and your group. I find something new in Dawn FM every time I listen to it. Thank you for this addition."
