I used to love the eery atmosphere and immersiveness of the first installment, but I remember missing these aspects from DL 2 at launch day (pirated it), but I wanna buy it at the summer sale perhaps now.

If anyone played DL 2 recently, did the game get some more immersive improvements or perhaps are there mods that can make it have a more atmospheric feeling?

I enjoyed the first one a lot but the second one I couldn't get into. The removal of guns had me bored after a while and it just wasnt the same. Apparently they have introduced guns now but I'm in no rush to check it out.

Agreed. The ray tracing effects are pretty but that's about all the game has going for it.

If you want a good zombie game sequel, play Dead Island 2 instead. It's slightly shorter than the average game but it's much better than the original.
