I dont really understand their business model.
Hosting these huge model files. Why cant facebook/goog/m$ just do that on their own?
How did these massive ai giants end up relying on huggingface for everything?
Well you see. AI companies are run by idiots with too much money to throw around so all you have to do is tell them your startup is github for ai models and they'll bury you with money.
And they're totally trustable, riiiiight.
What are you saying? Are you claiming they're putting malicious code in their downloads or something?
It's mostly a joke about Alien's fictional face hugger and how people carrying one inside look normal, until...
Also, anything that's too free for too long is likely to either disappear, or turn to profit seeking at some point.
