China is a great place no matter your financial status :) You can survive on a lot less than the west. What is socially acceptable in someways in more open than the west too but in others less.
Great place to live and such great people
Its worth noting I mean as an immigrant who is not ethnically Chinese. It's a tough place to adapt to if you aren't financially stable. Do note that my knowledge comes from the experience of people from Australia.
Are you referring to a specific city? The city my family is in can live in very comfortably on $700 a month. That’s why I’m reluctant to agree. If you were specifically thinking of Shanghai or something that would make more sense.
Yeah I suppose you're right, I've only heard about this regarding Guangdong and the likes. That said the cost of living is still significantly less than most Western countries. I suppose I just meant that it's easier to adapt and avoid the social issues if you have money but that applies anywhere.
Phrased that way I fully agree. You can’t imagine how much money we pay for family birthdays and other events.
I’m sure by Guangdong you’re thinking more Guangzhou?
He's actually in Foshan! Accommodation is cheaper there apparently.
Oh yeah I know many live on the edge of Foshan to work in Guangzhou :)
