Yeah I live in a restrictive state for guns so no AR for me. I’m already bulking up on ammo and probably gonna get a scout scope for it.
Check out the Ruger Mini 14 Ranch. It's likely available in your state.
I considered it, but went with 7.62 vs 5.56. Just a personal preference
