None of my relatives I have traced back to that time period were involved. Turns out they were all in Oregon territory during the conflict.

I found some interesting info. A 3rd great grandfather(I think it was 3rd) served in the CSA. Never felt good about this because obvious reasons. Anyways I found what company he was in the battles ETC. something I discovered for the first time was that he deserted after 3 months. I like to think he joined lost 3 battles in a row stole a horse (he was in a calvary division) and went back home like nothing ever happened but who knows how it really went down it was probably less dramatic than that but hey it’s fun to imagine.
