The Window keeps moving for one simple reason.

The GOPs vote in every election. They may hate the candidate but if they've gotten the Party's endorsement they'll vote.

The Left keeps waiting for the perfect candidate to come along...

Ratchet theory: the GOP keeps pushing us to the right; the Democrats prevent movement to the left.

The left being so obedient to the Democratic Party is part of the problem. If more of them voted Green, some change could actually happen.

Jill Stein doesn't think Putin is so bad.

Oh, no! She didn't denounce Putin fast enough! I guess I have to vote for genocide, then...

Let me guess: you're one of those people who squawks about "purity tests", too, huh? And the irony is completely lost on you.

The GOP has been using the Green Party to split the Left vote for years.

how could that be effective, if the green party didn't push leftist views?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I'll relink the article on vote splitting.

It's amazing to me to talk to people who claim to be political and yet seem to have never actually considered how elections actually work.

this is just spam.

the answer is the green party does push leftist views.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

I did a quick check. there's not one Green Party member of Congress as of 2024.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Green_politicians_who_have_held_office_in_the_United_States

I never said that the Party didn't have Leftist views; I said that they are taking Left votes from the Dems and helping the GOP win.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

there's not one Green Party member of Congress as of 2024.

this has nothing to do with what I said

[–] [email protected] 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Again, what is the point if you never win?

Please answer the question.

I'm pretty sure you can't, but in case someone else stumbles on this I want it shown that you couldn't

[–] [email protected] 1 points 16 hours ago

don't be petulant

[–] [email protected] 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

no, they are earning votes the Democrats can't.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

And exactly what good are those votes doing if the Greens can't win any elections?

The point of running isn't to make nice speeches, it's to get elected and make real changes.

Again, what is the point if you never win?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

the prohibition party never won, but they got a constitutional amendment.

the point is building a movement and demonstrating power.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Quick search shows that the Prohibition Party was established in 1868 and Prohibition was enacted in 1919. About 50 years later.

Greens were established in 2001. I guess that means you're willing to wait another 25 years for any substantive change.

Also, it's pretty funny that you can pay attention to the Prohibition Party and ignore the idea of vote splitting.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

the fact you need to search indicates you may not be qualified to be having this discussion.

You get funnier and funnier. I literally lol'd that one.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

if you don't know about the most successful third party in America that never won an election, you should probably not be the one teaching about third parties

This from the guy who needed 'splitting the vote explained'

You just keep getting funnier and funnier.

btw, uproarious laughter isn't considered a sign of petulance. It means 'sulky'

just because you insisted on linking your favorite think tank doesn't mean anyone needed to see it.

correcting your assumptions is generosity, not petulance

[–] [email protected] 0 points 15 hours ago

Sure, keep telling yourself whatever you need to.

You're a very smart person and a skilled debater; you have made a lot of people rethink their old ideas.

You are talented and well-respected in your community.

Need any more affirmations?

After all the laughter you've given me, I feel like giving something back.

[–] zarkanian 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Why do you keep bringing up Putin? I'm not voting for Putin. I don't care what the GOP thinks about the Green Party, either. Why do you find these arguments compelling?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Oh, no! She didn’t denounce Putin fast enough!

Literally the first thing you mentioned was Putin. And then you get on me for explaining myself.

And if you don't care what the GOP thinks of the Greens means that you have absolutely no idea how elections actually work in the US. I'll give you a link on 'splitting the vote' so you can understand.
