The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) informed the Minister's office via email on March 2 and May 25 about the decision to move Paul Bernardo, from a maximum security prison to a medium-security prison. The Minister expressed shock and concern when the transfer became public in early June. The Conservative Leader called for the Minister's resignation, citing mishandling of the situation and other issues.

Paul Bernardo, convicted of heinous crimes in the 1990s, is serving a life sentence as a dangerous offender. The transfer has caused outrage among victims' families and the public.

Why is this a big issue anyways? Bernardo is scum of the earth, but I doubt his move was decided by the government... This seems blown out of proportion
