I love how the internet itself can warp the use of language. Would I be right in thinking people would find it weird in maybe the same way that people find it weird when you say "lol" irl?

The thing with Zuhausys is, that it only occurs in the internet. Ich_iel is a community where almost everything gets translated into German in, usually, the dumbest way possible.
Also, what might be interesting for you is, that the "normal" word would be Zuhausis. The last i gets replaced with an y to indicate, that the word is gender neutral and includes all genders. This style comes from a German person named Phettberg. It works by replacing the last letters of a word, which are usually used for specifying the gender of a word and replacing it with an y.
Example: Colleague:
Kolleg -e (male)/ Kolleg -in(female) would turn into Kolleg -y.
I mean basically anything can, there was a time in the early 2010s where the word "Atze" came up as a way to say homie, which was attributed to some rappers using it. Funnily enough the term came from the 1700s iirc.
Yes, similar, maybe 'zuhausys' would be even more obscure.
