Next level: Separate bedrooms. Fight the social stigma that this would somehow mean there's a problem in the relationship and accept that most people get better sleep when not next to someone else. Also helps sharing the sleep disruption when the kids are young and climb into the bed at night for whatever reasons.
Look at money man made of money with extra bedrooms just lying around full of money
We have started using the spare room whenever one of us has a cold, has a different schedule, or we have something important the next day. But for other nights the simple pleasure of waking up next to one another is worth a small dip in sleep quality.
