Reducing peoples interests to consumerism is your culture i guess.
If i buy a mountain bike is my culture a mountain biker? How often do i have to ride to be justified in thay belief? How often do i have to post online about bikes? How many hours of youtube do i need to watch of mountain biking?
Jeeps do things normal passenger vehicles dont and people creating a community of interest on that basis is valid.
If you call mountain biking a culture, I'll mock you for that too. Because it's a hobby and a sport, not a culture.
Something isn't a culture just because you and your friends want to base your identities around it.
I'm way into Star Trek. If I ever heard another Trekkie talk about "Trekkie Culture," I'd have to resist the urge to slap them.
Now you're just being pedantic. If you're while argument was based on the usage of the word "culture" i think you could have made that point more clear lol.
Obviously you were talking about the validity of assembling for the interest of the Jeep brand.
For a professional lemming your performance hasnt been stellar this morning.
Well as long as it's obvious to you, because it wasn't obvious to me.
I thought I was just one of those weird people who believed words mean things. Thanks for setting me straight on what I really think.
Well if thats what you really meant then i applaud your ability to leverage how obtuse you are. It certainly seems to have proven you dont need to be clear about what you are saying to win an argument on lemmy.
You could have asked for clarification rather than just been aggressive this entire time, but your insults are noted.
Your first reply demonstrates your single-minded goal to "win" rather than clarifying your position. You milked the misunderstanding because thats why youre on here.
Thank you for telling me what my goal is. It's something else I was entirely unaware of.
And then I milked the misunderstanding too! Wow!
Tell me, how do you know all these things about me that I am completely in the dark about?
Sorry, the question is how i can see? Or how you cant?
You tell me! I didn't know any of this, so clearly I don't know what questions to ask. You're the expert on me here, not me.
I dont think you form questions. I think things just come straight out of your head onto gods upcoming commandments list.
Then you can certainly come up with the questions for me.
Unless you're planning on telling me you don't know how to use a very basic Lemmy client properly in this thread and pretend I apologized to you here too.
That does seem to be where this is headed given sync's layout and your last-word complex.
That would be a lot easier for me to believe if this conversation weren't longer than the other one.
But then maybe I do believe it. You know me better than I do, so I guess you'll have to tell me what I believe for me to find out.
Also, I thought I knew how Sync worked and how that isn't in any way a limitation. But clearly I haven't used the superior version of Sync that you use.
We are still okay for this conversation for another... 1 replies.
Weird, the version of Sync I have used allows you to easily avoid that just by clicking on the most recent comment link. But then I do not have this superior version you use.
Phew common ground. Want to be friends?
Sorry, I cannot answer any questions about what I want. That's for you to declare about me.
Just when i thought we werent getting anywhere.
I went to add you but im realizing lemmy doesnt seem to have a friend list.
Oh. We're already friends? I thought you asked me if we wanted to be. I guess we are. Which is weird, because I didn't think my friends were people who insulted me and declared what I thought even though I was sure that wasn't in any way what I thought.
In fact, I always thought my friends were nice and kind people who respected others enough to let them speak for themselves and didn't run around lobbing insults.
But what do I know about my friends? It's not like I've ever met them.
I'm fairly certain I like my friends, but I guess not if you're one of them.
Gosh, if i had known you were such a victim i wouldnt have dared suggest you have a problem letting things go.
Shouldn't you have known I was such a victim? I thought you knew all this stuff about me! You mean you actually don't know about me? I'm so confused!
Well I certainly wouldn't want to extrapolate your qualities from limited information. Maybe i should try thinking more about the reality of your situation and not feel obligated to conclude stuff about you. Sorry about my short-sighted meme behavior. I really am ruining lemmy even though i just wanted to drive engagement with the platform so it feels populated enough for people to transition from reddit without it feeling like a ghost town. Maybe i can still do that without being so damn annoying.
