so stupid. that always helps a lot. at my company we've discussed 15 minutes with 10 people, how to address the person from another company, who's gender we don't know and who's name can be male and female, without hurting their feelings. i ended up writing an email asking about their pronouns. this wastes so much time and in the case of the white house, even taxpayer money. people can become super insecure if they don't know. we also have a guy at the office who frequently gets misgendered because of his unusual first name. he always get's super angry about it, but he also understands this can happen. why would one make this more complicated.
