A "Junk" is a type of Chinese sailing ship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junk_%28ship%29

But it's a pretty rare and specific term.

Thanks for linking. Was somewhat familiar, but it's such an antiquated term, even from the time of the book's publishing. Doesn't read well in modern context.
