In the wake of Bashar al-Assad's resignation, the new Syrian leadership under Ahmed al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani, has emphasized its desire to maintain strong relations with Russia. In a recent interview, al-Sharaa made it clear that Syria's strategic interests align with Russia, and the new authorities seek to avoid conflicts with Moscow. Despite the shift in leadership, Syria aims to keep Russia's military presence intact, underscoring the importance of preserving long-standing ties between the two nations.

How is HTS a puppet? They have a bad history but you seriously think after decades of terror the HTS is in the wrong for overthrowing Bashar Al Kalb?

Regardless, every Syrian and Arab in general is ecstatic over Bashar fleeing, and I don't think they'd care that the HTS has ties to western countries.
