A suggestion so absurdly stupid I couldn't help but share it with more people. Every 4 years keeps the Olympics special, helps prevent it stepping on other events' toes, and most importantly helps host cities. Contrary to the reporter's assertions, it's proving damn near impossible to find host cities, and it's an incredibly expensive process for those they do find. Only one city "bid" for 2032, and we're still debating where to put the damn main stadium.

Unfortunately I think a lot of people have voted on this post without reading the comments too. Maybe I should have tagged it "satire" (even though its author didn’t intend it as such).
