Don't you want engagement in relevant / important topics like this one?
Was your original comment just made so people will see that there was a comment so this might be a post worth participating in?
If so then do you think them coming into the comments and seeing a comment that has no actual body other than "something important might happen here if people engage but this is not the engagement you seek", would it not be better to make a comment that either positively or negatively makes a point to further the discussion?
