Rule 5: Keep it civil. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a jerk. It’s not acceptable to say another user is a jerk. Cussing is fine.
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

You could use this as a philosophical or ethical litmus test. The idea behind not arresting immigrants in hospitals is that we don't want someone suffering or dying because they wouldn't go to a hospital for fear of being arrested. Illegal immigration isn't a capital crime. Eliminating that policy basically says that we're okay with someone here illegally dying rather than getting care.
True that. Illegal immigration isn't even a felony, it's a misdemeanor.
When someone says that we need to start taking people's children away forever, or send them into the desert without water to die, because they're illegal immigrants, they're revealing what they want to be able to do to people, for their own reasons. Enforcing the law simply has nothing to do with it.

Honestly, the issues associated with illegal immigration are so overblown. The country as a whole likely has a net benefit from it. But the right has convinced so many people that it's the cause of all our problems, so people have gotten comfortable demonizing and dehumanizing them.
