You can use anything you want. I don't think the courts can literally refuse it as long as it's reasonable.
Although the only time I ever had to do it they didn't have a Bible they just had a person swear me in. But that was just as a witness so maybe that was the reason.
If it isn't the original Gutenberg bible I refuse to swear.

Depending on what country, probably. Someone has sworn an oath on a river before.
