To be fair, the original MK relied more on its shock value at the time than the actual gameplay.
And that’s from the perspective of someone who bought it day one in SNES.
Certainly not a bad game by any means, but very basic and rather stiff.

The sequel built upon it greatly and was such a massive improvement in every way.
