I just learnt a sore tooth of mine is caused by my tooth root never fully closing (due to getting braces and shifting my teeth around). Now at 30 I need a root canal.

Iโ€™ve never even had a cavity before. Iโ€™m legit terrified. Teeth are the one thing that are much worse than nails on chalkboard for me.

How was your experience been? Any words of advice or words of encouragement? I could use it :(

Wtf were you eating that led to the need for a root canal?

Famous American HCL acid pops.

Gasp! My mom was right! Ring Pops are laced with ecstasy!

I had a lot of different stuff that vacation to the us, most of it absolutely garbage compared to what I'm used to. But unfortunately that was all that was available there.

Safe to say I'm bringing a bunch of protein shakes next time I'm there

Garbage is not all that's available here, there are plenty of healthy choices everywhere. You just have to stay away from the fast food peddlers, which includes "fine dining" chain restaurants.

There's a reason I said 'compared to'

The us is huge and has a ton of options. Both good and bad, regionally and nationally, but this takeaway is straight-up ridiculous. If you think you have to use protein shakes to get by, you are just bad at traveling.

I am not wasting my time on the road when I can be with family. It's ridiculous food deserts even exist

[โ€“] slackassassin 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

What does this mean? You can have good food in the us at home, on the road, with family, without family, alone, at a jousting event, whatever.

E: I see the confusion. I didn't mean having to travel in the us, I meant traveling to anywhere. Like finding good grocers, markets, restaurants, interesting spots, etc. They're literally everywhere. In any case, none of this has anything to do with your tooth.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

We did travel to a variety of grocers and restaurants, nothing was decent

[โ€“] slackassassin 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sounds like you had a rotten tooth and are blaming it on some bs tbh.

[โ€“] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh yea it had been dead for years, but I had an extremely consistent diet, and proper hygiene. In the us, neither of those were available

Well, that last part is not true at all, so it's tough to believe the rest. But have a good one.
