Life increasingly feels again like a list of never ending chores. I tick everything off on the daily planner and then have these crushing feelings of despair when I turn the page to a new day and a blank slate - I have MORE things to do?!??!?! Do they ever stop?! Can I just stop (again) (and for longer this time)?

And yet, doing the chores endlessly on Animal Crossing was somehow therapeutic and relaxing... maybe because it's so much darn easier to earn Bells...

Adulting is fucking relentless and a drag at times. My kids are all "you grown ups can spend as much as you want and buy whatever you like and do whatever you want" and I'm like "yeah but the minutiae child, the minutiae!"

Haha, sweet children, flexibility of time and money is never free, it comes at a cost... I saw how much of a toll all the usual expectations took on my mum and didn't particularly look forward to that part when growing up tbh.

I can spend 10 hours on my phone and have nuggets for breakfast lunch and dinner.

I also have to call the electricity companies.

Relatable. Constant cooking, cleaning, washing and bills. And there's still things I haven't cleaned that I need to get to (yes window exhaust fans I'm looking at you).

My tamagotchi from 2.5 decades ago is still starving in a corner somewhere.

learnt from a young age chores are not my thing.

I already keep it to as low as I can function on, but shit creeps up where if I don't do something soon I'll lose money (like trying to return this unused but partly opened $110 USB laptop charger, which I've left gathering dust for 29 days, to JBHifi...)

Wake up, drink water
Eat maybe, do a poo
Save time, pee in shower
Get dressed, much to do
Drive to work, fuck traffic
Run for tram or train
Running late, do not panic
Roadworks to blame
Get to work, put on smile
Say hello, morning, hey
Urgent tasks in a pile
Run ragged through the day
More traffic, drive home
Cook dinner, wash dishes
Do washing, stay up to one
Rinse repeat, tired and listless.
