The Pentagon says the modelling must "include former Eastern Block [sic] countries" and "regions beyond eastern Europe and western Russia".

Hey uh… maybe we shouldn’t research that. Maybe let’s just assume “it’d be bad” and leave if at that and not do it

I think they're thinking the more probable scenario is that Russia does it. But let's hope they don't.
