I think I've found my example property to use for my sustainable design project. Still not sure if I will use this or plan a new build for the project, but it's a start.
Lovely little place.. I have a fantasy where I buy a regional Victorian place and use it as a holiday house and eventually retire there. This is the kind of place I would almost select. My fantasy requires an old combustion stove (still operational) in the kitchen and functional fireplaces, plus solar panels, electric appliances, vegetable garden and water tanks. As I said, a complete fantasy!
That sounds pretty much the plan (in fantasy, I can't actually afford it!). The biggest issue is that is the heritage overlay, so some things would have to be done quite carefully to be allowed. But I think everything I want is achievable there, it is within walking distance to everything and opposite the botanic gardens. I'm a bit sad I don't have the money ☹️
and a pony!
Chickens, yes. 🐓 I don't think there is space for a goat or a pony, and they are not allowed without a permit. I could apparently keep 60 pigeons though.
60 pigeons is much more smell and noise than 1 goat. Stupid rules are stupid. Also, quail. But apparently they drop dead if startled
