Pge has no competitors. You gotta target the protest at the government, or take it to the streets. This is even dumber than doing a one day Amazon boycott.

Yes, and no.

Imagine a world where they were able to get enough people to consistently shut off their power to such a degree that it put PG&E under real financial strain.

That would get their attention, and the governments. At which point they would either amend existing regulations through their captured regulators within the bureaucracy, or sneak through a bill that granted them the ability to charge customers enormous penalties for participating in "collective actions that damage the grid".

But that doesn't mean they shouldn't do it. That just means that they (Californians/rate payers) have to push harder. Rinse, and repeat until the system is reformed, or they stop having worry about utility bills because their homes have been swallowed by the shifting earth.

I wonder what they did to keep the momentum going?
