Simpsons as a family is a horror show for me. Homer is an extreme violent child abuser against Bart. โ˜น๏ธ

Yeah. But some parts of it represent a little corner in my mind that constantly wishes for things to have been different.

The Simpsons tends to only make.me sad when I'm already in a bad place. Other shows with less dysfunctional families like young Sheldon or similar tend to make me sad at any time if I pay too much attention to what's happening. It always ends up reminding me that no matter what, I'll never be able to experience growing up in a supportive environment with my basic needs met, or people raising hell if they aren't. I can work to change that in my future, but something that's a given for a lot of people was non existent for me. And that can be a harsh reality to cope with
