I know it isn't exactly the same but there are as many varieties of artificial vanilla out there. It's not disappearing, we're just not concerned with the original
People who do pastry and food are absolutely concerned.
And they will get over it. Our current banana isnt the same as the old one but its that or nothing.
First thought when I read this headline was this is absurd, vanillin is super easy to synthesize the scent/flavor isn't going anywhere. Now actual beans may become super scarce which sucks for sure.
