Hello, Protestant German here. I’m hearing a lot about the infamous Quran burnings in Sweden, and find it very strange. To me it’s fighting fire with fire, and as Muslims are very religious I can imagine it hurts them a lot.

Can someone help me understand how this makes sense?

Maybe I don’t have the full picture. Thank you!

And that is fine. As long as none of that is invoked upon me. I don't agree with the burnings, I think the guys doing it are idiots, but it is also their right to be idiots.

It’s their right to be idiots, if it doesn’t negatively affect others. To say other shouldn’t be negatively affected by this is ignorant.

If that's the reasoning you have, then nobody should say or do anything ever again, because someone, somewhere at any point in time could CLAIM to be negatively affected by it.

It's not like they walked up and spat someone in the face, or punched them. They destroyed their own property.
