Hello, Protestant German here. I’m hearing a lot about the infamous Quran burnings in Sweden, and find it very strange. To me it’s fighting fire with fire, and as Muslims are very religious I can imagine it hurts them a lot.

Can someone help me understand how this makes sense?

Maybe I don’t have the full picture. Thank you!

but also if we ban burnings of the Quran because muslims gets violent - we do it of the wrong reason... and that is a very dangerous path to take

I do sort of agree, but meanwhile, I do think a lot of free speech enthusiasts fail to grasp the difference between "åsiktsfrihet" and "rätt att göra saker utan konsekvenser".
