1- Sometimes the file manager just won't open and I get the error "Could not register nemo as a remote: Timeout was reached" when running it through the command line

2- Steam doesn't work most of the time, games won't launch, downloads won't pause and I can't exit out of steam, however, I can still navigate around the app.

Has anyone else ran into these issues and how are they solved?

1- Did you see this issue on Github? https://github.com/linuxmint/nemo/issues/3270 - maybe there is a solution in there.

2- How did you install Steam? On the official forums lots of people reported problems when having it installed via Flatpak or Mint system package. Best practice is to install it via the .deb file from https://store.steampowered.com/about/.

1- The issue wasn't closed so I assumed it didn't have a solution, I'll look through it again 2- I used the steam-installer from the software manager

Does mint really have you install a steam .deb file?

Mint doesn't have you do anything. If offers Steam in their Software Manager (system package), like I said. I was simply relaying experiences from other users who recommend the .deb for it having the least problems of all methods.
