The funny thing is that NOAA and NWS are part of the Department of Commerce, the department that directly works with businesses to ensure that goods and services can plan for the weather. They track ocean currents, wind patterns, and yes temperature changes.

The accuracy of their models have become so good that we have pretty darn good forecasting now.

All so that Walmart can buy shovels in time for the next snow storm.

Yet they want to do a way with the agency because climate change is now a woke issue.

Talk about biting off your nose to spit at your opponent.

I've always heard it as "Cut off your own nose to spit in someone's face".

Basically it means you are willing to hurt yourself just to be able to make your enemy miserable.

Because that's what the actual phrase is. Biting off your nose makes no sense, nor does then spitting in someone else's face.
