At least the kid can actually act.

The worst part of the episode is that it's not a bad one. Its just that the trope of "main character becomes a kid again" in scifi is so incredibly tired that no one cares if it's done passable or not.

I have no issues with that episode I rather enjoyed it

I actually think it's one of the lesser used tropes; a far more often used trope is groundhog day and that episode is absolute gold.

the trope of "main character becomes a kid again" in scifi

What are some other examples?

Star Trek TNG comes to mind immediately. I’ll edit if I think of more. Did any of the superhero shows do it?

i don't necessarily think these are bad stories, but it does feel like a fall back idea from a list of writing prompts and not truly original.
