I didn't realize that the physical volumes were monochrome. What an incredible waste. I just made a comment in this thread about how I only really look at the art in this series and just ignore the text at this point. I can't imagine spending actual money on this series and then getting monochrome. I am curious to see if the art can hold up as the season goes.

It happens in other mangas too. Serialized mangas sometimes has colored panels in magazines on special occasions e.g. 100th chapter etc. but they’ll be monochrome in collected volumes, probably to keep the price down. If a manga got really successful it might get a 完全版 (perfect version) release, or an artbook with all the color panels, years later.

Another interesting fact: One Punch Man manga had one or two animated panels when viewed on the web which is impossible to capture fully in book form 😄
